John is one of the founding principals of IMC and is responsible for all aspects of IMC’s operations and performance, including investment strategy and Investment Committees. John has over 35 years of real estate banking and capital markets experience in both the U.S. and Canada, including senior positions at Merrill Lynch’s commercial mortgage businesses from 1997 to 2009 and prior positions with J.P. Morgan, Salomon Brothers and McKinsey & Co. Prior to IMC, John was the Managing Director and Head of the Canadian Conduit Lending Program at Merrill Lynch, building the Canadian platform and founding the Canadian CMBS market. John holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Business Administration from Wharton School of Business and a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from Moore School of Engineering.

As a founding member of IMC and with over 35 years of experience in international real estate banking, Bob was instrumental in establishing the platform and business model at IMC. Prior to IMC, Bob was responsible for Merrill Lynch’s North American real estate financing business and developed and implemented the Merrill Lynch Global Principal Investments Asset Management platform. In this latter role, he identified emerging investment opportunities and undertook complex private market transactions across the globe. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Economics from St. John’s University in New York City, NY.

Darren is responsible for the management of High Yield investments at IMC and co-leads the origination and underwriting teams. Darren has over 25 years of experience in investment management, commercial mortgage banking and high yield investments. Darren’s investment management career started at Nesbitt Burns where he spent several years in portfolio and product compliance. He subsequently moved into private assets, working with the Canadian operation of Lone Star, where he gained extensive experience managing sub-performing and non-performing commercial mortgage portfolios. Darren holds a Bachelor of Economics from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

Ken McKinnon is a Senior Managing Director and Equity Partner. Ken, as part of IMC’s senior management team, is responsible for managing IMC’s relationships and capital raising activities for its growing debt and equity businesses. Ken is a member of IMC's investment committee and works alongside the co-heads of IMC’s origination and portfolio management platform. Ken was formerly at TD Bank where he was the Head of Real Estate Corporate Banking at TD Securities from 2014-2023. In total, Ken was with TD Bank Group for over 23 years and within the Real Estate Corporate and Investment Banking team for 18 years. At TDS, he was responsible for a team of over 20 professionals covering all sectors of the real estate space across Canada and the US. Ken and his team originated, advised and risk managed over $100B in debt transactions and actively built leading relationships with both large and small public and private real estate owners and operators across North America. Ken is a CFA Charterholder and is a graduate from the University of Windsor.

Rob is responsible for all aspects of IMC’s financial and operational functions, including compliance. Rob has over 25 years of experience in Canadian and international real estate investments, structured finance, and investment banking and management. His experience includes structuring property acquisitions totaling more than $1.5 billion on behalf of institutional investors and other financing transactions totaling $10 billion across various capital markets and credit products. Prior to IMC, Rob was Managing Director and CFO of a real estate investment manager with AUM of $2 billion. Rob holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics & Commerce from the Royal Military College of Canada and a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD (France).

Jean is lead of the loan closing department at IMC and manages all loan servicing and administration for IMS, IMC’s fully integrated loan servicing affiliate with over $2.1 billion in assets under administration. Jean has over 40 years of experience in commercial real estate and mortgage financing. Prior to joining IMC, Jean held a senior management position in the Merrill Lynch Canadian Conduit Lending Business, and prior to that, held positions as a senior real estate law clerk with several major Toronto law firms. Jean is IMC’s principal mortgage broker.
